Very nice
from Russ - Red Bank, NJ - 06/14/2009 03:52:55
On my most recent trip to Playa (5/09) I took the opportunity to revisit La Casa Del Auga. I had not been there in over a year and had heard the menu was new and the service improved.
It was about 8:30 when we stopped for dinner, I wanted something light and my companion wanted fish.
I started with Cream of Lobster soup which was rich and well prepared, she with La Casa del Agua Salad which was excellent.
For dinner I opted for 2 appetizers, Crunchy Scallops Marinated in lime, lightly battered in panko and fine herbs. Served over champagne risotto and Madagascar Shrimp Battered in coconut, over a delicious mango, orange and ginger sauce. Again, both were excellent.
My guests meal was equally well prepared with her opting for Fish Filet au Mediterranean Vinaigrette Fresh catch of the day, with baked vegetables, marinated in extra virgin olive oil, rosemary, garlic and parsley.
House wine was passable and our only comment is the ventilation. The night was very still and without 3 or 4 fan blowing (noisy) it would have been very uncomfortable.
Dinner was $860 pesos, about $60 USD
